I'd known Rianne for a while. She was a frequent flyer of Flex fitness, and at the time I'd been working there as a combat instructor as well as their creative lead. The approach for this job was simple. A short session, an interview and some training footage all within the hour. I didn't want to take up too much of her time.
My approach was to not lead Rianne in any way. Open, honest chat about what wellness means to her, and why Flex is the place she chooses to belong. Something I've learnt over time is that the best moments come from just being honest. Not leading the client in a particular direction. Hearing them out. Letting them tell their story.
We chat for 20, filmed for 30, and we were done. Fun, relaxed shoot. Ended up being a really great video.
Sometimes, less is more.
